LGBTQ Support Groups
QLife provides anonymous, free LGBTIQ peer support and referral for people wanting to talk about a range of issues including sexuality, identity, gender, bodies, feelings, relationships and health.
QLife services are free and include both telephone and webchat support, delivered by trained LGBTIQ community members across the country. QLife services are for LGBTIQ individuals, their friends and families, and health professionals.
Beyond the telephone, QLife offers webchat for people who prefer online interactions or for whom the phone is impractical.
Cancer Connect is one to one telephone peer support by Cancer Council for people affected by early, localised cancer. It supports LGBTIQ people through matched connections with a trained volunteer who shares similar experiences. The match with the peer support volunteer is designed around the cancer type, age, lifestyle and interests. This unique relationship is designed to support people, to assist in reducing levels of distress by providing coping strategies.
